About the Role:

The HR Compliance Superintendent is responsible for the supervision, strategy, direction, oversight, workforce management and regulatory compliance for all work pertaining to compensation, benefits, information systems, payroll, employee relations/labor relations, employment and HR analytical reporting, and immigration;

The focus of this job centers around producing timely results that are high quality and accurate. Benefiting from an analytical, inquiring and critical mind, this job requires imagination and strong problem-solving skills, but with a strong technical orientation. The job requires an ability to deal with abstract concepts, systems and ideas and all of that in an organized and self-disciplined way. It also requires that serious consideration be given to all possibly related facts and potential problems. This role will be responsible for supervising the following roles: Benefits and Compensation Specialist, HR Business Partner, Senior IT Supervisor, and Payroll Supervisor;

Responsibilities:

  • Performs job functions consistent with the Company's vision and mission statement and core values of the company; ensures that direct reports perform their respective functions in like manner;
  • Plans, organizes and controls the operations and work activities of team by establishing team performance expectations, monitor, coach, develop and evaluate performance of each team member;
  • Prepares and secures approval of the team's operating budget for inclusion in the HR department budget;
  • Develops policies, procedures, systems and guidelines relating to HR and IT functional areas to ensure compliance by all concerned with such policies, procedures, systems and guidelines that have been approved for implementation;
  • Manages department activities and all annual campaigns, new system implementations, compliance/regulatory and continuous improvement activities;
  • Leads the development of HR analytics, through continual developing HR reporting and trend analysis; develops workforce trends by analyzing and consolidating forecasts done by different departments of manpower requirements in quantitative and qualitative terms.
  • Provides leadership and oversight for the payroll and IT functions to include a focus on technical development, regulatory compliance and process improvement;
  • Manages vendor service level agreements and proactively monitors metrics to ensure seamless service delivery across organizational lines and evolving support model;
  • Resolves top-tier escalations providing guidance or clarification of policies and procedures using relevant data available for interpretation;
  • Support and coach managers and employees on HR programs to strive for self-service;
  • Identifies opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness within HR programs or processes.



About you

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required;
  • Require 10+ years of hands-on experience leading HR functional areas including benefits, compensation, immigration, payroll, IT, ER/Labor Relations and demonstrated success in development and implementation of programs;
  • Professional certification is desired (PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP Certification, CBP or CCP);
  • Demonstrated experience with strategy development and program design through implementation;
  • Experience in continuous improvement and project management;
  • Experience consulting with both HR and Company key stakeholders;
  • Experience researching HR topics and preparing a thorough, yet concise analysis of the findings including recommendations;
  • Experience with payroll/compensation/employment law compliance;
  • Experience with HRIS implementation; SAP, ADP or similar HRIS system experience is an asset;
  • Must have union experience required; HR experience in the mining industry preferred;
  • Valid Arizona Driver's license;
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office;
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills required;
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills and excellent customer service skills required;
  • Ability to manage work across all areas of the business and function successfully with diverse stakeholders;
  • Ability to handle tight deadlines and multi-task;
  • Problem identification and comments to action on identified issues;
  • Ability to handle highly confidential material on a continuous basis in an extremely professional manner;
  • Must be detail oriented and quality driven.
