Job Description:

Our client is a cross country haulage organisation, well established across Southern Africa. This role reports directly into the Group Financial Director & Group Operations Manager, will a 2nd line report to the Managing Director.


  • Overseeing of the total in country operations and staff including Finance, IT, Security, Operations, Safety, SHEQ, Marketing, Sales and HR functions within the DRC
  • Managing the entire Finance staff and function in DRC, including:
  • External and internal audits, compliance to policies, procedures and controls
  • Proper and timeous Finance reporting
  • Accurate and timeous Head Office reporting
  • Accurate record keeping and reconciliations
  • Financial and IT systems and controls
  • Adherence to Group Policies and Procedures
  • Adherence to IFRS and OHADA, Tax legislation and all relevant laws
  • Budgetary cost control
  • Oversee all systems and operating procedures throughout the DRC:
  • All daily / weekly and monthly administration reports
  • Monitor and report on transportation and in country operating costs to ensure we operate within budget
  • Oversee external companies/subcontractors that provide transportation services
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and cross border shipment legislation
  • General Country Operating Assessment including collaboration with customs and tax authorities and all other relevant departments of the Congolese state
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for transport operation in line with the Quality Management Systems
  • Ensure the Company delivers the best in terms of transport, security and safety of cargo and personnel operating in the DRC in order to maximize revenue (client retention is crucial)

Requirements: Qualification and Skill:

  • Relevant Finance Degree with 5 years’ experience in a Finance environment
  • At least 5 years in a Management Role
  • Must be experienced in logistics
  • Must have a good knowledge of IFRS and OHADA
  • Experience in cross-border operations and transactions
  • Must be fully bilingual, French & English
