Our client; a global, multi commodity miner with several assets, currently seeks an Interim General Manager for one of their Underground Gold Mines based in South Africa.
Reporting to an overseas Group COO, the Interim GM will be an Engineer who understands complex ore structures, solving technical problems and the idiosyncrasies of an Underground Operation; long hole stoping, cemented rockfill, trackless machinery etc.
The core focus will be on production, team leadership and the oversight of a mining contractor.
Given the current climate and limited international travel, a local GM or Senior Mining Manager who is degree educated and a locally certified leader will be the best fit. Priority will be given to those who are immediately available or on short notice.
