Procurement Internship Program Details:

Our Procurement team is a strategic business partner focused on delivering global procurement services.

The Procurement team manages the purchasing of materials that go into more than 300 products, ranging from construction and mining equipment to diesel and natural gas engines and industrial turbines. We also purchase materials and services needed to operate our business such as, office supplies, perishable tooling, IT hardware and software and more.

As a Procurement intern, you will have the opportunity to work on and provide leadership on many exciting projects such as developing and implementing global sourcing strategies, interfacing with product supply and category teams to deliver cost savings. Our professionals work closely with our internal customers around the world to ensure we meet their quality, cost, and delivery objectives.

Summer 2021: May 17, 2021 - August 6, 2021

This is a 40 hour per week assignment, lasting 12 weeks.

Internship Program Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled full time at a 4-year accredited university/college in one of the following degree programs: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Management or Business degree with emphasis in Supply Chain
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0 (no rounding)
  • Expected graduation date of December 2021 and beyond
  • Must have 12 completed semester hours at a 4 year university prior to start of internship or currently participating in a Caterpillar student program and will be attending a 4 year university beginning Fall 2021
  • Must be able to relocate to indicated work location for duration of internship, and complete daily work commute using reliable transportation

  • Relevant internship or work experience in functional field or in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to articulate analytical data
