Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role

Position Reports To: Human Resources Manager

Position Overview

The Training Superintendent is responsible for leading, planning and implementing all training and development services, policies and programs for Rainy River. They will support the ongoing development of the local communities through site training initiatives and programs. They will establish and maintain communications and relationships with key stakeholders of the operation to ensure training needs are identified and addressed in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate and implement trade training programs .
  • Liaise with vendors to manage and deliver trade training programs .
  • Ensure that training activities are planned and scheduled to meet IBA commitments
  • Provide guidance, leadership and mentoring to site-based training teams with the intent of improving training performance
  • Facilitate needs analysis and gap assessment processes in order to identify training needs and requirements for the site and develop priorities
  • Formulate and execute a site wide training plan
  • Develop and conduct seminars, workshops and other training sessions as required
  • Coordinate with external training consultants to identify and customize course objectives and content .
  • Develop and maintain training documentation systems that meet regulatory requirements .
  • Provide assistance to employees at all levels in accordance with the company’s training and development policies and procedures as well as relevant legislation
  • Work in conjunction with and provide support to the Human Resources Team
  • Other related duties to support the team as required to ensure Rainy River is a success.


Qualifications
  • Minimum five years’ experience in Human Resources or Training and Development, ideally within the mining industry or industrial setting
  • A degree or diploma in Business Administration or Human Resources Management would be an asset
  • Strong technology skills and the implementation of new technologies to simplify complex day-to-day operations, particularly expertise with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and listening skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-changing and dynamic environment with evolving systems and procedures.
  • Proactive self-starter, known for implementing practical and needed process improvements.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A creative and collaborative team player is essential to be successful in this role
  • The ability to effectively build strong relationships with all stakeholders
