Our exciting Havieron Project

The Havieron Project has enjoyed exploration success over the past year and is rapidly approaching the delivery of an initial resource. The Havieron Project is the primary target of the Newcrest-operated earn-in with Greatland Gold and forms a key driver of Newcrest's growth strategy. The Project is located in the Paterson Province, Western Australia, approximately 45km east of Newcrest's 100%-owned Telfer mine .

Who we're looking for

Reporting into the Exploration Manager, the primary purpose of this position is to lead delivery exploration and resource programs of one of Newcrest's most exciting growth projects. You will have the rewarding challenge of designing, leading and delivering the strategy for exploration, executing your exceptional project management skills, direction and guidance to the team.

Additionally, you will be ensuring developed standards in exploration evaluation are applied to the existing projects and delivering resource growth for the project.

To succeed and thrive in this position you'll come from an extensively strong leadership background and you'll have demonstrated experience working in mineral exploration using exploration brownfield and greenfield targeting techniques. You will have significant experience in leading multi-rig drilling programs, deep directional drilling and resource delivery. You'll be tertiary qualified with a minimum BSc (Hons) in Geology or equivalent and have demonstrated related work experience in economic geology with a broad understanding of gold and copper mineralised systems. You will also have;
  • Sound knowledge of the major gold provinces in the Asia Pacific
  • Orogenic, epithermal or porphyry exploration experience
  • Experience/exposure within property generation and ground selection
  • Strong data observation, evaluation, interpretation skills
  • Highly proficient with industry standard software
