Location: East Boulder Mine

POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Project Supervisor makes a direct contribution to important mobile maintenance goals of increasing labor productivity, reducing maintenance costs and improving equipment reliability. This is accomplished by the researching, expediting and coordinating distribution of parts and materials between the Maintenance group and the Warehouse/Purchasing group. Work schedule to be determined by Management to best fit the needs of the Department. Filling this role will free up the Maintenance Supervisor to be more engaged with the workforce.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Will be familiar with the maintenance process so that they may fill in for the front line supervisors when absent.
  • Hold people accountable in a consistent manner, document performance as required, resolve non-conformance issues, and address employee issues with appropriate resources.
  • Responsibilities include locating and obtaining parts identified by the Maintenance Repair groups.
  • Work with the Purchasing and Warehouse group to help maintain inventory control and stocking levels to meet the demands of both the predictive/preventative and planned maintenance programs.
  • Must display a positive attitude toward work, be a team player, have the ability to juggle competing priorities.
  • Review accuracy of backlog requests to support planning and reliability team.
  • Review work requests received by the Supervisor and compile job plan information and action items.
  • Determine necessary parts and/or components needed to complete tasks identified from backlog and work requests.
  • Create and/or review Work Orders for accuracy of scheduled shop location and correct start dates based upon parts requested availability, delivery lead times and manpower availability.
  • Other duties as assigned by General Foreman
  • Keep the underground warehouse organized and clean.


QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

  • Trade School/combination of equivalent related field education and/or experience as a mechanic, preferably experienced on mobile diesel equipment.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a leadership role; Planner, Supervisor or Lead man experience acceptable.
  • Leadership qualities including: character, teamwork, communication, business sense, and vision
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Planning software and JD Edwards experience
