Responsibilities:
- Providing Instrumentation, controls, and communications engineering design for mining and mineral processing projects throughout North America and abroad
- Contributing to the preparation of:
- Design criteria
- Technical specifications for Control Systems
- Construction, and Installation Specifications
- Input into the development of P&ID and instrumentation selection
- Instrument indexes
- Instrument Data Sheets
- Procurement of instruments
- Instrument Cable Schedules
- Control System Design and Block Diagrams
- Communications System Design and Block Diagrams
- Control System Layout and Wiring Drawings
- Instrument Wiring Drawings
- Installation Details
- Process Control Narratives
- Material Take-Offs
- Provide I&C engineering input to packaged equipment.
- Provide Process Control System Programming on Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or programmable logic control systems (PLC)
- Providing engineering technical support to the field during construction, including responding to RFIs from construction contractor, issuing Site Instructions and performing field reviews.
- Provide onsite support and commissioning and start-up service
- Establishing good working relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders
Skills / Qualifications
- Graduate or Undergraduate Electrical Engineering degree, with the ability to register with Engineers and Geoscientists BC
- Recently graduated or up to 4 years of experience
- Capable of developing creative yet practical solutions and is open-minded to alternative solutions.
- Willingness to travel to remote field locations on a short-term basis
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume and deadline-driven environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills
- Positive attitude and ability to effectively work in a team atmosphere is imperative
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Committed to continual improvement and achieving engineering excellence
