What You’ll Do:

Risk Management (Safety) . Take an active role prioritizing and managing safety and risks associated with employees, contractors, costumers and visitors. Adhere to local, state, Federal and Vulcan Materials Policies to ensure all assigned plants have zero accidents and are in total compliance.

Investigate and document near misses and incidents to implement effective corrective actions with the support of Vulcan Materials Environmental, Health and Safety Team.

Lead Operational Effectiveness. Plan and lead daily facility operations with cross functions teams including operations, maintenance, sales and logistics in to ensure optimal utilization of plant and equipment, personnel and inventory requirements, and work procedures in regards to truck shipping, vessel offloading, and stockpiling.

Responsible for managing plant efficiencies across the facilities assigned to. This will enable us to provide better customer service and utilize our assets more effectively.

Manage and develop talent. Provide strong leadership, training, team building and constant supervision to all employees at the plant in order to effectively support the operational function of the business. Manage employee performance and have continuous dialogue aligned with stablished business goals in order to develop talent.

Work cross-functionally with HR to recruit new employees, provide merit increases, perform disciplinary actions, and evaluate the performance of employees

Monitor Processes and Materials. Analyze production and quality control to ensure a quality product is received by our customers. Monitor operational reports to ensure best practices in Vessel Offloading, processing, stockpiling, and re-handling to ensure product remains within target specifications. Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance program to reduce, downtime, or other disruptions.

Maintain Compliance. Build a strong safety culture to ensure the plant is in compliance with Vulcan’s safety, operations, and environmental policies and procedures. Manage the health and safety of employees to continuously improve the Vulcan’s health & safety performance.

Inspect Equipment and Perform Repairs. Schedule, Assist and organize the work of employees in the daily inspection and maintenance of fixed and mobile equipment of the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize downtime. Skills You’ll Need:

Experience. Previous experience in supervising production employees preferably at either an aggregate, sand/gravel or asphalt plant preferred.

Leadership and Management Skills. Must be able to provide strong leadership and mentorship to employees, both direct and indirect reports, to motivate and maintain interpersonal relationships.

Operational Knowledge. Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of rock and sand mining, aggregates handling, vessel offload operations MSHA regulations, engineering principles and procedures, basic knowledge of maintenance and reliability in mobile and fixed equipment and quality control systems and processes.

Interpersonal Skills. Must be an excellent motivator and team builder. Must be able to form strong social relationships and effectively communicate with both internal and external audiences.

Financial Knowledge. Must possess knowledge and experience leading financial performance to established targets, meeting or exceeding performance goals.

Working Conditions. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed loud noises.
