Senior Engineer - Mechanical Reliability

Globe 24-7 in partnership with Newcrest Mining, is working together to source two experienced and qualified talent to join their Asset Reliability Team at their Lihir Gold Operations (LGO).

The Role

Reporting to the Superintendent Reliability, the Senior Engineers - Mechanical Reliability (Tanks & Tails) will be responsible for providing technical expertise, planning, direction and hands on training and mentoring in your area of responsibility. You will be also required to provide mechanical reliability engineering expertise on plant equipment condition and rate of deterioration using reliability engineering methods to address shortfalls in equipment performance, conduct failure investigations, develop maintenance strategy, reviews of problematic equipment, equipment performance reviews and studies for new equipment.

The Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering with professional accreditation is essential
  • Post graduate studies in the Asset Management field will be highly regarded
  • 7 + years' experience in fixed plant maintenance and reliability engineering roles in minerals processing, including supervisory experience
  • Project management skills including methodology, practices, and techniques
  • Working knowledge of current asset management / reliability engineering concepts and methodologies essential
  • Advanced use of MS Office Suite and SAP or similar
  • Previous experience working in a remote location in a developing country advantageous, but not essential
  • Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication, and public speaking skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training
  • PNG, Australian or New Zealand drivers' licence is essential
