Our Transport Services business is a market leader, shaping and influencing the future of New Zealand's infrastructure. Incorporating more than 2,500 employees, this business covers a diverse range of services including operations and maintenance of road, rail, port and airport infrastructure, material production and manufacturing, technical services, leading research and development facilities and a large asset base including fixed and mobile assets, with revenues exceeding $800m annually.

We are currently looking for an experienced Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) to join our team in Cromwell as we get busy with our Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) maintenance contract.

The perks:
  • Enjoy the satisfaction of seeing the fruit of your work, job security, and a rewarding hourly rate in a friendly and professional environment
  • Guaranteed minimum full time (40 hours per week)
  • Every day will be different!
  • Excellent opportunities for further training and career progression to those who work hard and demonstrate willingness to learn.

About the role:

In this brand new role you will play a huge part in our traffic management team of 5 where you'll be working on traffic management plans, managing crews and supervising Traffic Controllers on site. You'll also make sure both your team and the public are safe at all times.

Your TTM tasks will slow down in winter but you will be redeployed onto the maintenance contract with activities including: driving grit trucks/snow ploughs, CMA application, sign inspection and maintenance, road asset inspections and grit removal.

If you have the flexibility to work throughout the week, including occasional late night and weekend work then we want to hear from you!

About you:

Along with your positive attitude and your ability to work in a team there are a few essentials to what we are looking for:
  • You will hold STMS level 1 qualifications
  • Class 2 full New Zealand Driver's licence
  • Previous experience in a STMS/Traffic Controller position
  • Show commitment to safe work practices

If you enjoy spending your day on your feet and outdoors, this could be the role for you.
