Job description
Rio Tinto operates the worldâs largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. These assets include a world-class, integrated network of 15 iron ore mines, four port facilities, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure. Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.
About the Position
An ongoing opportunity exists for experienced shotfirers based at Rio Tintoâs West Angelas mine site. Reporting to the Drill & Blast Superintendent, you will be associated with the safe and secure operation of all shot firing duties on site, including running shots, setting up blast zone clearances, the safe operation of mobile manufacturing units, responsible for ordering and correct storage, handling and transportation of explosives on site.
As a key member of a high performing team, you will play an integral role in implementing our client's production requirements.
Skills and Experience
⢠5 + yearâs experience as a shot firer in an open pit mining environment
⢠WA issued Shotfiring Licence
⢠WA issued Dangerous Goods Security Card
⢠Manual C Class Australian issued Drivers Licence (minimum)
