Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

Schedule: 5/2, 4/3 – 9-hour days

Position Reports To: HR Superintendent

Position Overview

The Human Resources Administrative Assistant provides general support to the Human Resources Team in all areas of HR including onboarding, employee relations, record keeping, document tracking, and data entry. This role is a temporary 6 month contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participates in the recruitment onboarding process by completing reference checks, setting up pre-employment medicals, scheduling interviews, distributing new hire documents, conducting new hire training
  • Assists with coordinating the logistics for site visits for applicants
  • Assists in the maintenance of personnel records
  • Creating purchase requisitions, maintaining purchase orders and invoicing through the SAP system
  • Maintain booking calendars for boardrooms, meeting rooms and scheduling catering when required
  • Supporting the HR team with taking meeting minutes
  • Answer and distribute HR related calls and emails
  • Assist in delivering HR communications to workforce
  • Maintain department inventory for career fairs, onboarding and employee recognition programs
  • Assist with coordinating staff events and functions
  • Assist with department mail
  • Completing routine disability management claim documentation
  • Liaising with benefit providers and payroll to respond to employee inquiries
  • Any related duties to ensure the success of the HR Team


Qualifications
  • Office management experience an asset
  • Minimum 3+ years related experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration or Human Resources preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook and advanced knowledge of Excel
  • SAP or Equivalent ERP Software experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills – detail oriented
  • Must be able to handle highly confidential material on a continual basis in a professional manner
  • Works well under pressure and in meeting deadlines
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills – able to prioritize
  • Analytical thinking skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Team player
  • Takes initiative and ownership for work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
