The Civil-Hydro Group is a Hatch global practice providing civil engineering design expertise to Hatch's commodity-based business units. Our capability spans through the whole project lifecycle, comprising scoping, conceptual design, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, basic and detailed engineering, construction and project management.
Our Brisbane office is experiencing growth due to recently secured, high profile projects. We are seeking applications from Water Resource Engineers.

Some of the key responsibilities of these roles will include (but are not exhaustive):
- Support a range of mine water management-related studies and investigations (from study to construction stage)
- Conduct Water Balance and Final Void Studies in mining related projects
- Flood modelling of creek and river systems and overland flow paths
- Support and mentor graduate engineers
- Provide technical guidance to the team members
- Deliver accurate technical documents and reports
- Prepare proposals and bids and undertake business development activities to nurture existing and increase client database
Qualifications, experience and competencies required for this role:
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Environmental Science
- Located within Brisbane and eligible to work in Australia.
- Eligible for Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) designation or working towards it.
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
- Previous experience in Water Balance and Final Void Studies
- Experience in catchment hydrology, hydraulics and Mine Water Management
Preferred
- Extensive experience in a consulting environment
- Experience in water resources assessments
- Proficient in the use of hydrologic and hydraulic software
- Exposure to civil design software
- Experience in preparing technical reports and managing projects
- Candidates holding RPEQ or CPEng will be highly regarded
- Candidates with 6 plus years’ experience in water management engineering
