Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is looking for an Intermediate Mining Environmental Approvals Consultant ready to take on new responsibilities and grow within our dynamic mining environmental team. Our team provides best in class, environmental consulting support for Ontario mining projects and operating mines based out of our Oakville, Ontario office.

Our existing team includes consultants with 2 to 30+ years of mining - environmental experience, having backgrounds in earth sciences, engineering, environmental science and ecology. Working collaboratively with other Wood specialists, we provide a one-stop shop for environment assessments and approvals for mining projects and mines in Ontario.

Your role would be to prepare documentation related to Federal and Provincial mining environmental assessments / approvals, as well as helping our team manage projects and prepare proposals.

Candidates should have 5+ years of related experience, and a proven ability to work in a team environment, responding effectively to client's needs.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Exceptional communicator in English (verbal and written)
  • Direct, hands-on experience with the Ontario and Canadian regulatory regimes, and environmental approvals processes applicable to mining
  • Experience with project management / co-ordination, client liaison and consultation an asset
  • Proven professional judgement and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and time management skills / able to work both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines
  • Bachelors or Graduate degree in an applicable field (such as earth sciences, environmental studies or engineering)
  • 5 (or more) years' experience, preferably as a consultant or with a mining company
  • Valid Ontario driver's license.

Role commensurate with experience.
