Based at the Fosterville Mine site, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our UG Fixed Plant Maintenance team reporting to the Mine Electrical Superintendent.

The Fosterville Mine is the largest gold producer in the State of Victoria, Australia. Located 20km from the City of Bendigo in the State of Victoria, Australia, the Fosterville Mine is a high-grade, low-cost underground mine that features growing gold production at increasingly high grades as well as extensive in-mine and district-scale exploration potential. The mine is located in an area with well-developed infrastructure and is accessible by paved roads.

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support for capital works, project electrical installations and to establish and maintain the site electrical management plan and management system to control electrical drawings, standards and specifications.


Your responsibilities will include:
  • Facilitating capital and project works from feasibility to commissioning with responsibility for planning, design, execution and maintenance planning;
  • Conducting and maintaining electrical models for analysis of high and low voltage systems including fault level calculations, load flow, protection coordination, arc flash assessment;
  • Providing advice on the technical resolution of operational and project technical queries and troubleshooting;
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends for reliability monitoring;
  • Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and site requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings and site plans.


Our ideal candidate has:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated with a positive attitude;
  • High level emotional intelligence with the ability to positively engage others and as part of a team;
  • Tertiary Electrical Engineering qualifications or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years practical experience;
  • Computer literacy (Pronto, MS packages and MS Projects) and exposure to INX;
  • Knowledge of AS3000, AS3008, AS2067, VSIR, Electrical Safety Regulations 2019 (VIC) and the Blue book.
