About the role

Our high performing team at the Kwinana Workshop are seeking an experienced and versatile Mechanical Supervisor to join their crew.

The role itself requires equal parts technical expertise and leadership. Expertise through directing our tradespeople in the delivery of work in both light and heavy fitting; ensuring safe and effective execution of project and site repairs, manufacturing and assembly work. Leadership through the coaching and development of our people, to enhance capability and provide career progression.

Our Supervision roles are very hands on; we expect you to lead through positive role modelling and consistent display of visible leadership.

Please note; the Kwinana Workshop location is based approximately 40 minutes south of the Perth CBD. This role does not require regular site travel, but some weekend supervision is to be expected.

What we're after

We're looking for someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and enjoys a challenging yet rewarding work environment. You will be responsible for;
  • Active leadership to set expectations with the team in safety, quality and cost control
  • Management and execution of detailed schedules to ensure deadlines are met
  • Develop & implement workpacks in relation to the light & heavy fitting bays
  • Provide assistance to the planner/scheduler to report costs, hours, labour usage etc to further improve the efficiency and cost control of the workshop
  • Partnering with the Quality team & supply information for MDR's along with any other quality documentation required by the CSI QA/QC representative for the works being undertaken.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and relevant standards and codes
  • Have a strong technical knowledge in Screen, Feeders, Cone Crusher, Jaw Crushers, Gyratory Crushers, Conveyors, Gearbox's, and other fixed plant assets
  • Compliance with all Safety Rules and Procedures to ensure all work is undertaken in a safe manner at all times, including compliance with Australian Standards and Codes relevant to the fabrication of our assets
  • Work closely with the Kwinana site Manager, leadership team and planner to ensure WIP / Schedule is closely monitored for compliance whilst managing any unscheduled break in work

What you'll bring to the team
  • Hold relevant trade qualification (Mechanical), or engineering qualification
  • Previous leadership experience managing maintenance crews
  • A minimum 10 years relevant industry experience
  • Able to maintain composure in a fast-paced, energetic workplace; responding to competing demands for time and resources
  • Strong time management and organisation skills to ensure the tight project schedules and deliverables are met
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated high standard of safe work practices
