Join our Geotechnical team based at our Melbourne office during an exciting period of transformation. Reporting to the Principal Geotechnical Engineer, the role provides internal geotechnical support for Newcrest's studies into the design of future underground mining projects to support Newcrest's growth strategy.

Who we're looking for
A big focus of this of this position is to provide internal geotechnical support for studies into the design of future underground mining projects, particularly block caving. You will be responsible for geotechnical activities that are associated with growth underground mining projects at both green and brownfield sites.
You'll be providing expert geotechnical analysis on caving and in particular rock mass, cavability and fragmentation assessments, cave design, stability and ground support design. Site operations experience is highly advantageous as is exposure to block caving.
Our perfect candidate will be tertiary qualified in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent with experience working in an underground hard rock mining environment. You will be a strong communicator capable of delivering significant and complex projects whilst leading and motivating team performance and providing professional guidance.
Furthermore, you will also have:
- Geotechnical engineering design and analysis including ground support design for dynamic conditions
- Experience in relevant mining engineering software packages such as Acquire database, Rocscience tools, ITASCA tools, Mine Design tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage clients and stakeholders
