Our Newfoundland and Labrador Operations is currently seeking four (4):

PROCESS ENGINEERING CO-OP STUDENTS

The Opportunity:

The successful candidates will assist with a wide variety of tasks related to technical and engineering support and process evaluation for the Long Harbour Processing Plant.

These positions will be for 4 months, starting in Winter 2021 and will be located in Long Harbour (if site allows for this).

Accountabilities:
  • Utilize Safe Production tools and exhibit behaviors of Safe Production;
  • Support the implementation of a Continuous Improvement (Lean) mindset
  • Provide technical support to clients, to ensure the implementation and consolidation of the management model to achieve Operational Excellence (Basic Problem Solving – 5S, 5 Why, Deviation; Action plans; and Implement Routine Management – Daily meetings, KPIs breakdown, Deviation Analysis, etc.);
  • Assist in the duties related to the execution of the Start-up and Inventory Build-up Plan.
  • Develop reporting tools to identify process improvement opportunities;
  • Assist with projects to fix identified problems during start-up activities;
  • Manage assigned projects in a manner that meets quality, time and resource requirements.


Education:
  • Currently enrolled as a student of a Process Engineering program.


Experience:
  • Previous work experience in an industrial setting would be an asset.


Knowledge and Skills:
  • Able to work with various groups to gather and access a large amount of technical information in the form of engineering specifications and drawings; and vendor specifications and recommendations.
  • Knowledge and experience in windows based applications are essential.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills and a proven safety record are essential.

  • Ability to create networks and relationships with stakeholders
  • Detail oriented
