Rio Tinto operates the worlds largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. These assets include a world-class, integrated network of 15 iron ore mines, four port facilities, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure. Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.
About the Role
Ongoing opportunities exist for Fixed Plant Mechanical Fitters with experience for ongoing roles on various Rio Tinto Iron Ore mine sites located in the Pilbara. P ort facilities consist of three shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert, which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading .
The successful candidate will be working within the No1 Workshop maintenance team completing rebuild and refurbishment work as per business requirements reporting directly to the No1 Workshop Supervisor.
Skills and Experience:
A Mechanical Fitter / Boilermaker Trade Qualification
Excellent diagnostic fault finding abilities
Extensive experience rebuilding and over hauling conveyor pulleys, Warman & high pressure pumps, industrial drive gearboxes and Gyrator crushers
Experience in fault finding hydraulic circuits
Experienced in general fabrication
Good welding and oxy cutting experience
Basic understanding of SAP maintenance systems or similar highly regarded
A Manual C Class Australian Drivers Licence essential
Ability to work cooperatively in a team, demonstrating flexibility to business requirements
