Job Details

CSG are currently working with a well-positioned operational mining company focused on its growing skill-sets in key areas of their flagship assets in North America. At this time they require an Electrical Superintendent with operational experience for a role that is equal parts mentoring as it is developing mining procedures on-site.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working on a residential 5:2 roster this role will require an individual who is a team player and safety conscious, and capable of working with a diverse team of engineers, technical services staff and underground operations personnel.

Overview

Accountable for the management of all aspects of maintenance and services in a safe, productive and cost-effective manner.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible for the testing, maintaining and recording and correcting any deficiencies and will have a program in place for the scheduled maintenance for the administration and plant buildings for the emergency fire/ non fire equipment and systems Responsible for implementing yearly budget and life of mine plan.
  • Identify and organize the resources required for these plans, equipment, personnel, and services to achieve the established production targets.
  • Organize these schedules to maximize the utilization rate for each personnel and equipment. Analyze production history to improve efficiencies.
  • Coordinate with the General Foreman and Supervisors all maintenance plans in order to obtain and sustain desired operating performance and compliance to PM system.
  • Perform physical inspections to determine if work meets company standards in regard to quality, production and safety.
  • Recommend measures or changes to improve production methods, equipment performance and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department and entire mine.
  • Prepare additional daily, weekly, and monthly reports for the General Manager or Corporate and other management personnel as required.
  • Enforce compliance consistently and fairly all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Supervise, instructing and training of staff to ensure adherence to company procedures, guidelines, and any relevant government legislation.
  • Ensure that each direct report understands and complies with the requirements of their position description.  Communicate with Manager, Superintendents, Supervisors, Departments, and other employees to review direction, resolve problems, recommend priorities and corrective measures to improve operations and conditions of entire mine.
  • Ensure operating objectives and targets are effectively communicated to each department.

Qualifications

  • Clear understanding of the OESC and the M421 Use of electricity in mines.
  • Sound understanding of both the principals of Preventative maintenance and Maintenance planning
  • Clear understanding of the maintenance standards and procedures •Knowledgeable in computer skills
  • Communication, leadership and team building skills •Strong prioritization, organization and reasoning skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills •Ability to develop individuals to achieve better results •Proficient in follow-up and feedback
