Perenti Group now seeks to engage a suitably experienced Lead Architect for its ICT division (Group Technology) based in the Perth CBD.

The Lead Architect is a new role within Group Technology recognizing the need to coordinate architectural planning and architecture choices in project delivery, for the benefit of the group. You will be a key asset in guiding, developing, and governing the Group's Technology Architecture. This will involve:
  • engaging with stakeholders across the business to help drive a cohesive architectural direction for the Group; and
  • working with architecture resources that are embedded in different functional areas (different technical domains) within Group Technology. For this reason, the successful applicant needs to be a good communicator and collaborator, ensuring different architecture viewpoints are represented in decision making.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Architect will include:
  • Develop enterprise architecture blueprints and standards to guide the emergence of the technical environment, in support of strategic business plans.
  • When required, developing Solution Architecture for specific projects in accordance with the PMO guidelines and processes.
  • Supporting the Demand Management function by providing early architecture assessment of business ideas including order of magnitude estimation.
  • Develop solution concepts for business ideas that advance to project initiation; this will include considering high level options and estimating solution costs.
  • Overseeing, reviewing and quality assuring Solution Architectures for specific business initiatives.
  • Conducting the efficient operation of Architecture Governance for Group Technology.

Experience and Qualifications:

Role Specific
  • Considerable knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of ICT software solutions and technical solutions including but not limited to, COTS applications, integration technologies, SaaS, cloud technologies, infrastructure, applications and software within a large organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in developing Solution Architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience to provide early estimate of ICT solution costs.

Core Capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and succinctly with a diverse range of people at all levels using highly honed verbal, written, diagrammatic and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop or advise on solutions for business improvements.
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, engage and motivate team members.


Desirable Criteria
  • Possession of or progressing towards a TOGAF certification.
  • Possession of or progressing towards relevant industry specific qualifications for vendors such as Cisco, Microsoft or VMware.
  • Knowledge of contemporary integration patterns.
  • Experience in Solution Architecture within a mining context.
  • Experience in modelling and establishing architecture repositories.
  • Participation in Architecture Governance (Design Authorities) and Enterprise Architecture Offices.
