About the opportunity

We are looking for motivated, safety conscious Laboratory Supervisor to join the Laboratory Team at Hope Downs. This role presents a great opportunity to combine your technical knowledge in sampling processes and quality assurance with your leadership abilities to develop, mentor and guide a dynamic group of laboratory operators.

Reporting to the Superintendent Fixed Plant Operations, some of your accountabilities will including:
  • Provide technical leadership and support to the Laboratory Team
  • Ensure that sampling turnaround times are met safely and to a high standard
  • Ensure a high degree of quality control is maintained
  • Ensure that data is collected, validated and collated for high quality management practices
  • Exhibit and demand good housekeeping practices within the lab area
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained to optimum levels
  • Manage all consumable items for the laboratory area

About you

To be successfully considered for this role:
  • Be proactive with a commitment in driving a safe and inclusive team culture
  • Proven experience working in leadership roles and be confident in effectively leading, mentoring and coaching team members
  • Knowledge of operational systems; IMP robotics and operating systems, Starlims, FDMS, TIKS, SuperQ, and Chemalert
  • Technical and analytical experience in flux fusion, Leco TGA and XRF operations
  • A current Australian C Class driver's license

It would be also beneficial if you have:
  • A Certificate III or higher in Laboratory Operations or a related discipline
  • Mechanical and/or electrical trouble shooter on laboratory equipment
  • High Risk Forklift licence
