Project Coordinator, Closure

About the role

· Reporting to the District Manager, West Coast; the Project Coordinator will provide operational support, advice and service to the legacy asset portfolio, such as:

· Manage the deployment of contractors, equipment and other resources to meet project requirements

· Coordinate contractor bids and proposals, evaluation and contract awards with Procurement

· Build and maintain relationships with service providers, including regular contractor engagement on performance (during and post project), including any associated reporting

· Establish contracts with external operational support and logistics services providers. Set and monitor service level agreements, undertaking performance management as required

· Oversight training and induction processes for staff and contractors, ensuring understanding and commitment to comply with Rio Tinto HSEC standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements

· Support Asset Managers with the deployment and management of company HSEC and operational requirements with our contractors.

· Tracking field and small project performance for HSE, Schedule, Budget and Scope

· Manage and report on expenditure for operational support and project budgets

· Oversee the Equipment Management System for company-owned equipment deployment, maintenance, storage, and consumables inventory

· You will support up to 10 active projects and will be involved in the planning and execution work aimed at ensuring the safe and efficient execution of the work.

We have more than 100 legacy assets that require ongoing management. The objective of the legacy work is to ensure liabilities are understood, managed and minimized. This requires detailed understanding of the potential exposures, remediation options, knowledge of the regulatory setting, and societal expectations.

What you'll bring

A combination of skills and experience will be considered if you have:

· Knowledge and experience in planning and delivering a wide range of logistics and operational services to multiple projects in various settings including isolated and/or remote locations.

· Strong coaching and support skills

· Business improvement mindset looking for efficiency and innovative solutions

· Experience with aviation (preferred)

· Experience supporting and managing teams of employees and contractors remotely

· A sound working knowledge of the occupational health and safety requirements relevant to conducting operations in a field based environment and demonstrated ability to provide leadership and advice in the identification and mitigation of health and safety risks across multiple projects

· The demonstrated ability to form positive, collaborative and productive working relationships with a wide range of roles within the team and stakeholders
