About the role

We are looking for a Supervisor Emergency Services to lead the Emergency Services team at our Paraburdoo Operations, ensuring a uniformed approach to emergency services, both pro-active and re-active, based on prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.

This role is a great opportunity for a passionate and self-motivated individual to contribute to the development of emergency response capability across the operation. Reporting to the Business Partner Health & Safety, you will be:
  • Committed to promoting a safe culture according to the Rio Tinto safety standards.
  • Leading a team of Emergency Services Officers to deliver medical, fire and rescue duties.
  • Managing site emergency incidents.
  • Developing and maintaining the Emergency Response capability.
  • Fostering close relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Committed to promoting a culture according to the Rio Tinto The Way we Work requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement through innovation and technology.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Certificate IV in Health Care (Ambulance) (or higher medical qualification)
  • Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue (or individual competencies)
  • Leadership experience in emergency services
  • Hold a current C class driver's license
  • National police clearance certificate, valid within last 3 years
  • Ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively and be available as an escalation point during days off when required.
  • Fire and Rescue leadership experience

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Diploma or Bachelors of Paramedical Science, with AHPRA registration
  • Tertiary qualification in Leadership and Management
  • Alcohol and other drugs collection qualification
  • Experience working remotely.
