Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role
Title: Mine Maintenance - Short Term Scheduler
Schedule: Shift 7/7 – 12 hour days
Position Reports To: Mine Maintenance Planning and Projects Superintendent
Position Overview:
The role of the Mine Maintenance Short Term Planner is to work with the Mine Maintenance Supervisors and the Mining Operations Short Term Planner to monitor equipment operating status, identify equipment downtime events or risks, initiate notifications and co-ordinate appropriate responses to return equipment to services in a safe, efficient and manner and deliver reliability centered maintenance practices and programs for the mining fleet in conformance with New Gold’s policies and procedures including cultural, safety and environmental.

Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a positive health, safety, and environment focussed culture.
- Comply with all health, safety, environment and other policies, procedures and requirements.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Promote and maintain a results-driven, continuous improvement, performance culture throughout the operation.
- Coach employees and build positive team relationships.
- Review equipment daily pre-start records and initiate maintenance notifications and work orders for service and repair
- Coordinate breakdown response for mining and construction fleets including creation of P1 notifications and work orders.
- Collect and analyze information used to plan and schedule maintenance.
- Maintain fleet dispatch maintenance monitor systems, including updating equipment status, resources and ETA for return to service
- Review maintenance request, work orders and create schedules in consultation with planning and reliability team members.
- Generate reports, and other documentation used to monitor and manage specific maintenance programs.
- Understand and utilize standard planning and scheduling methodologies and tools.
- Participate in all regular meetings, including scheduling meeting, toolbox and contractor meetings etc.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to management.
- Maximize equipment availability through efficient and proactive breakdown and preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure work order discipline requirements within SAP.
Qualifications & Training:
- Valid Driver’s license
- WHIMIS Training
- MOL 5 Step Supervisor Training
Experience and Abilities:
- 3 or more years experience within heavy equipment industry
- Ability to read and interpret OEM schematics and Operation and Maintenance documents
- Experience with using SAP-PM or similar CMMS and MS Excel
- Experience with WENCO dispatch system (particularly maintenance monitor) or similiar
- A collaborative team player committed to developing themselves and others.
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently
- Excellent safety record
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling concepts, practices, scheduling tools and techniques
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and immediate changes in priorities
- Customer service orientation at all levels of the organization.
- High level of integrity and accountability.
- Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent software skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
