- Exciting opportunity to join a large scale open cut operation
- Hail Creek, Queensland, Australia
- 120 Kms from Mackay
Reference no: BM1708
Hail Creek Mine is a large scale open cut coal mine located roughly 120 kilometres south-west of Mackay in the northern Bowen Basin mining region of central Queensland. With a long mine life of 20+ years, producing both metallurgical and thermal coal products, Hail Creek is an inclusive workplace with a focus on safety, efficiency and productivity. We are seeking a passionate Engineer to join our Technical Services Team.
As a successful candidate, you will join either our Short Term or Medium Term Planning teams, depending on your skillset, experience, and personal development goals. You will be responsible for providing guidance to Operations as well as the other Technical Services teams through designs and schedules in either the Short Term or Medium Term planning horizons.
In the Short Term Planning team you will get the opportunity to take ownership over a particular active pit and form close relationships with the Operations supervisors for that area, while a role in the Medium Term Planning team will see you working as the key link between the Long and Short Term Planning teams on site, with the opportunity to refine and optimise the current mine plan all the way from conceptual stages through to implementation.
You will have a tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining/Civil or related field), and a minimum of two year's relevant experience, and be proficient in Mine Design and Scheduling packages (such as Vulcan, Deswik, Spry or similar).
For further information, please contact Ian Topen (Short Term Planning Superintendent) on 0458 224 138.
