Our Melbourne team is experiencing further growth due to recently secured, high profile Projects. We are currently seeking applications from Junior Structural Drafters to be part of an engineering team providing engineering services to large and small projects.

The ideal candidate will be given the opportunity to collaborate with other team members and work towards the successful production and delivery of structural drawings to our clients, in accordance with the project schedule. You will maintain coordination with designers and engineers within the disciplines and incorporate safety in design.

Key Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assisting the Senior Draftsperson with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and schedule
  • Producing and maintaining technical and engineering drawings and developing design details
  • Ensuring that drawings have incorporated safety in design and are self-checked prior to their release in accordance with internal and client standards and guidelines


Skills, experience and attributes required for this role:

  • Structural Engineering diploma (N Dip) or equivalent (civil/structural)
  • Drafting experience within the Infrastructure sector for an engineering consultancy or government organization
  • Understanding of Australian standards; as well as statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Working knowledge of state road/rail authority design criteria for bridges in particular for Vicroads, VicTrack, TfNSW & RMS will be highly regarded
  • Experience working in Microstation
  • Excels in a team environment and has well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • A capacity and desire to learn, and to learn quickly whilst working in the project environment
  • Attention to detail and lateral thinker
