About the role

We are looking for a Manager Asset Management - Bauxite to lead a step change improvement in Asset performance across Rio Tinto Aluminium's Pacific Bauxite Operations. This role will lead a team of site based asset management professionals supporting the development and execution of our asset management strategy and processes at Gove and Weipa mine sites.

This role is a great opportunity for a strategic thinking individual who enjoys leading a large team and collaborating with different stakeholder groups to provide subject matter expertise and lead Asset Management practices and processes for Pacific Operations. Reporting to the Manager Asset Management Pacific Operations, the role is accountable for the implementation of Rio Tinto's Asset Management strategy across our Bauxite sites.. In this role you will be:
  • Leading a large team of asset management site-based professionals across the Gove and Weipa sites;
  • A key member of the Integrated Operations Asset Management team tasked with creating value through leveraging the synergies across asset management in the Bauxite business
  • Leading the implementation and improvement of Asset Management strategy, processes and systems at Gove and Weipa;
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with leaders and other key stakeholders and providing coaching on the development of a high-performance organisation.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • A passion for improving the business and leading change projects
  • Experience leading technical or operational teams in an industrial environment, experience leading and influencing a geographically spread team would be beneficial
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organisation working in partnership with senior leaders to drive business objectives
  • The ability to deliver great leadership through achieving results, managing people, preparing for the future and developing capability
  • Significant relevant experience and qualifications (degree or equivalent).
