Reporting to the Senior Systems Coordinator, the Systems Technician – Level III position is responsible for providing end-to-end delivery and support of computer systems, telephones and peripherals.

Rotation schedule will be an even rotation

Responsibilities :
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Accept and respond to incidents and requests assigned by the internal helpdesk system
  • Deliver and support IT systems in support of business objectives
  • Documenting and managing of all hardware and software assets in a configuration management database (CMDB)
  • Installation, commissioning and maintenance of workstations, laptops, tablets, printers and telephones
  • Set up workstations with necessary peripheral devices (monitors, speakers, printers)
  • Telephone deployment, registration and maintenance
  • Check computer hardware (Hard Disk Drive, mouse, keyboard) to ensure functionality
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging)
  • Install and configure operating systems and software according to specifications
  • Organize and schedule hardware and software upgrades / maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
  • Maintain records of repairs, fixes and maintenance schedules
  • Ensure security and privacy of computer systems
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Identify computer equipment shortages and compile stock order lists
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend new equipment as required
  • General housekeeping of data rooms and wiring closets
  • Responsible for Return Merchandise Authorization process
  • Create, delete and manage WiFi and Morale network accounts
  • Ensure conference / meeting rooms are maintained and in working order
  • Registration of tablets and mobile devices in the Corporate Mobile Device Management (MDM)
  • Scheduling and execution of backup tape rotations
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications :
  • Associate Degree in Information Technology or relevant degree
  • At least three years’ experience deploying and maintaining computer hardware in an enterprise environment
  • Highly motivated individual that is able to work independently to achieve the desired outcomes
  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills; ability to diagnose a problem and ensure that it is fixed in a timely fashion
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills; a team player
  • Familiarity with installing new software products into a production environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work with users and vendors to drive improvements to the quality, service, and cost of technology solutions
  • Familiarity with applicable safety protocols when working around industrial equipment
  • Certification as Information Technology Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Information Technician Professional)
