Downer Mining are seeking Expressions of Interest for Underground Heavy Diesel Fitters to join the team on a permanent basis at Carrapateena, a large-scale, world class modern underground mine owned by OZ minerals located in South Australia 160km north of Port Augusta.

The Carrapateena team works a lifestyle friendly fly in fly out shift roster of 14/14. We have short chartered flights from Adelaide or Port Augusta to site

Your New Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance on the mobile fleet. You will also perform inspections to determine condition and suitability to return to service. This role will also participate in reliability improvement programs with engineering personnel.

About You

• Trade Qualification in light vehicle or HD Fitter Mechanic Qualification is essential
• Prior underground hard rock experience preferred
• Current manual drivers license
• Equipment experience would be preferred on the following;
  
  • Sandvik -TH663i, LH621i, DD421, DS421, DD 422i
    
  • Atlas Copco E7C
    
  • Normet SF050, LF700, CT
    
  • CAT M140, D10T
    
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times
• Willing and able to pass Pre-employment checks, including a National Police Check
• You will have initiative and a flexible approach to work with effective communication skills
