Position summary
Downer Water Services North is currently undertaking a long-term program of works for Queensland Urban Utilities in Brisbane. These construction projects includes water and wastewater pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants and water networks.

We have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to provide technical expertise, guidance and advice on the delivery of construction projects. Based in Fortitude Valley and reporting to the Program Delivery Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for managing sub-contractors, tracking the program, running projects, quality control and delivering project budget and timelines in a safe manner that is aligned with Downer's Zero Harm philosophy.

THE ROLE

• Provide input to reporting on project performance and progress, including development of solutions to issues that compromise attainment of agreed performance targets
• Attend initial planning visits and concept reviews
• Assist in the identification of potential hazardous site activities and ensure appropriate procedures and controls are implemented through Site Hazardous Condition Reports
• Assist with the design process to ensure the timeliness of the completion of drawings approved for construction
• Ensure design is checked against capital budgets during design development, and documentation
• Ensure the consideration of community, environment, operations and maintenance issues are integrated into the selection of preferred options for the project during the planning and design process

ABOUT YOU

• Experience working on water infrastructure programs/projects with proven Quality Assurance experience within the Water industry (SEQ) is essential
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, electrical, civil or mechanical is mandatory
• Experience in subcontractor management within construction projects
• Experience developing scope of works and developing subcontractor agreements
• Demonstrated ability in financial management, reporting and budgeting
• Effective in building relationships with internal and external clients & stakeholders
