Ravensworth Complex comprises of the Ravensworth Open Cut and Coal Handling Preparation Plant that provides high quality coal for the export market. The operation has approval to mine over 14Mtpa, with a mine life to 2034 with potential continuation opportunities.

An opportunity exists at our open cut operation for a Supervisor Shot-firer. Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring safe and efficient blasting practices
  • Support the implementation of the Mine Operating System (system procedures)
  • Assist in business improvement projects with respect to drill and blast activities
  • Assist Drill & Blast Supervisor with scheduling resources to minimise resource delivery delays and maintain efficiency
  • The supervision of other shot-firers and explosives handlers
  • Working flexibly to assist in meeting blasting requirements


The ideal candidate will thrive on leading the crew and be committed to working flexibly to meet the needs of the business. You will demonstrate a high concern for the health and safety of others, maintain a safe workplace by actively following safety systems and ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures and legislative requirements.

You will also have:
  • Blasting Explosives User's Licence and an Unsupervised Handler's Licence.
  • Understanding of NSW Coal Mining & OH&S Statutory Obligations
  • Have 2+ years continuous Shot-firing experience.
  • Previous experience supervising work of others is desirable
