About the role

We are looking for a Local/Sustainable Procurement Manager to drive the vision and change in indigenous, local and sustainable procurement across Australia

This role is a great opportunity for a person with a strong commercial acumen and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to drive change across procurement and the business. Reporting to the General Manager Procurement Business Partner, Australia, you will:
  • Create a framework to ensure consistent approach to local, indigenous and sustainable procurement spend across Rio Tinto Australia
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to establish the commercial and projects execution strategies
  • Drive programmes to support the economic development of indigenous, local and sustainable businesses

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Strong influencing, stakeholder engagement and change management capability
  • Proven ability to build a network and partner with the business
  • Degree qualified with good commercial acumen

Preference will be given to candidates possessing a sound understanding of the local and indigenous supplier footprint and related local and national legislations.
