About the role

We are looking for a Training Supervisor Mine Operations to develop training programs and determine training methods to be used and evaluates employee test scores to measure training program effectiveness and reports findings to management. Training will focus on established operating standards, Rio Tinto policies, and MSHA/OSHA/ISO regulations.

What the role entails

This role is a great opportunity to improve program content, and work with management to achieve training goals and to develop training programs, competency assessments, and assesses employees to the appropriate competencies. Working and reporting to the Area Superintendent, you will be:

· Delivering employee training and instruction.

· Developing competency assessments and assessing employees to those competencies.

· Designing, developing and managing training programs (outsourced and/or in-house).

· Selecting appropriate training methods or activities (e.g. simulations, mentoring, classroom, on-the-job training, and/or professional development courses).

· Assisting in planning and delivery of technical, professional, and compliance training.

· Conduct Training Needs Analysis and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed, including recurring and expiring qualifications.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Experience working in a mine heavy mobile equipment environment.

· Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking communication skills.

· Required to possess the MSHA Surface Unlimited Instructor certification.

· Ability to effectively deliver training to individuals and groups.

It will also be beneficial if you have:

· MSHA, Surface Unlimited Instructor Card is desirable, but will train employee for certification.

· Training in Instructional Design and Needs Analysis is beneficial. Knowledge and application of Critical Resource Management program is desirable.

· Experience with the ADDIE Training Cycle (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation).
