The Civil Group is a Hatch global practice providing civil engineering design expertise to Hatch's commodity-based business units. Our capability spans through the whole project lifecycle, comprising scoping, conceptual design, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, basic and detailed engineering, construction and project management.
Our Brisbane team is currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join an exciting rail project group to assist with current project requirements and opportunities. In this role, you will be asked to prepare engineering calculations and lead a small group of designers/drafters for the delivery of project drawings.

Responsibilities of this role includes:
- Providing civil engineering design for earthworks, roads, rail and precincts
- Planning engineering activities using Engineering Work Packages
- Preparing engineering calculations and reports
- Preparing Material Take Offs/Bill of Quantities
- Reviewing and checking engineering drawings
- Providing input to engineering, operating and cost estimates
- Participating in and contributing to design reviews
Qualifications, skills and experience we’re ideally seeking;
- A degree in civil engineering from a recognised tertiary institution
- Demonstrated design experience including earthworks, site grading, surface water management, access and earth structures
- Exposure to civil design packages such as InRoads, 12D Model, Civil3D, CivilStorm, CulvertMaster and OpenRoads
- Demonstrated knowledge of Brisbane City Council requirements
- Applicants with CPEng will be well regarded
- Prior experience within the rail and public infrastructure sectors will also be highly regarded
