Our Red Chris mine is located on the traditional territory of the Tahltan and we encourage qualified applicants from the local communities to apply. We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Williams Lake, Prince George and Smithers.

The Project Manager will be responsible to manage the design, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out to ensure projects are executed in a safe, cost effective and timely manner. The Project manager will act as a project delivery interface to ensure compliance and client expectations are satisfied to approved basis of design including applicable regularity and code requirements. A key part of this role will be to provide strong Health and Safety Management and Leadership within the Newcrest project delivery team.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for a person of integrity who is trusted by others that can effectively mange change to work tasks and environment. This person would have excellence communication skills and the ability to lead a team. Previous technical, practical and leadership experience in the relevant discipline and proven experience delivering Brownfields projects is required. Project management experience in projects of US$5m - $15m total value is also an asset. This role will be required to make difficult decisions and lead and manage others in changing business conditions. The Project Manager is also responsible for negotiating successful outcomes that achieve the required objectives and have the support and acceptance of all parties.

In addition to the above, you will have:
  • 8+ years industry experience, with at least 5 years experience in project engineering / management with demonstrated experience leading project teams
  • Relevant experiences sufficient to ensure a thorough understanding of the technical, commercial and managerial aspects of projects
  • Recognized degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent qualification
  • Eligibility for registration with affiliated professional association in the jurisdiction of practice is preferred
