Reporting to the Senior Process Engineer, the Process Engineer is responsible for developing a strategy for increased efficiency, leading improvement initiatives, and optimizing plant performance. The successful candidate will work closely with Process Operators and Supervisors to optimize circuit performance, analyze process results, and perform process and lab based tests to prove new and innovative technological improvements and system changes.

Responsibilities :
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Assist the team with common goals of safe production and continuous improvement
  • Track performance and circuit analysis to improve process efficiency consistent with our production and quality commitments
  • Work with the processing team to develop a five-year strategic plan to optimize plant performance through automation and technology
  • Act as a technical lead for projects in the processing plant
  • Lead and empower individuals in achieving operating targets and improve employee work performance and efficiency through mentorship and feedback
  • Work with contractors, operators, and maintenance crews to ensure procedures are being followed


Qualifications :
  • University degree in Mineral, Metallurgical, or Chemical Engineering, or other related subject area with proven experience, control systems would be ideal
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer or eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
  • Minimum of four years technical experience in an industrial processing environment, with some coal processing experience
  • Solid understanding of process analysis methodology
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to communicate change and get partners on board
  • Proactive with a keen desire to take on new challenges and think creatively
