The Opportunity

A great career opportunity exists for a Graduate Mine Surveyor in the George Fisher Mine Technical Services Department. Reporting to the Senior Surveyor, this role is residentially based in Mount Isa, on a 9:5 roster. As a Mine Surveyor Graduate, you will be exposed current mine surveying techniques and equipment, and take part in the critical aspects of mining provided by the Survey Departments. You will be exposed to some world-class technologies and you will provide directional control for development mining, other set-outs and production drill mark-ups, install and maintain the mine survey control network, undertake void surveys using Optech / CALS survey equipment and measure / calculate mine volumes for surface stockpiles and underground voids.

Under the guidance of our experienced and skilful surveying team, you will contribute to set out blasting patterns and give direction to the mining operation to ensure that all development and mining is executed according to the specific mine design. I n this role you will be responsible for providing reliable survey control to the mining operation. You will also be responsible for survey completion, map/plan creation, data processing and reporting.

The successful applicant will have:

• A Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Spatial Science or similar
• Have graduated from university within the last 2 years
