Summary

The SharePoint Administrator will report into the Project Systems Operations Administration’s team and manages the function and activity of the corporate SharePoint Online tenants. It includes troubleshooting site issues, overseeing the work of SharePoint developers and analyzing all user activity. The SharePoint administrator provides support and guidance for SharePoint global users, ensures SharePoint functionality, updates the software as necessary and addresses and resolves any issues with Software performance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors SharePoint for any problems
  • Troubleshoots issues promptly
  • Delegates work to other teams where needed
  • Oversees activity pertaining to the maintenance of SharePoint
  • Manages and revises the layoff of sites
  • Analyzes daily user activity on SharePoint
  • Maintains records of SharePoint updates, maintenance, and activity
  • Reports to company management with updates and information about SharePoint use
  • Provides technical support for SharePoint users
  • Addresses questions or concerns from business owners or directors regarding the function of SharePoint
  • Keeps apprised of Microsoft updates to SharePoint software
  • Applies updates to company’s edition of SharePoint as necessary
  • Maintains SharePoint security as part of Azure
  • Holds training and informational sessions to teach employees how to use SharePoint
  • Consults with management to devise the most useful ways to apply SharePoint to a business’s goals
  • Migrate content into SharePoint Online sites with migration tools or manual procedures
  • Perform testing of SharePoint Online sites or components as developed by the development team
  • Work closely with the SharePoint Technical specialists and developers
  • Technical Document Writing, user guides and training material development for various aspects of the SharePoint administration
  • Create, leverage and manage content types, site columns, lookup lists and libraries supporting Content Managers and Site Owners

Skills

  • Demonstrates specific knowledge of the function and makeup of Microsoft SharePoint
  • Possesses knowledge of best practices for maintaining information security
  • Can handle confidential and sensitive company information responsibly
  • Possesses ability to think creatively to devise customizations and uses for SharePoint.
  • Understand the workflow and process requirements of complex application systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Technologies including Azure, SQL, Email, PowerShell, JSON, HTML
  • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and ability to work well with others
  • Demonstrated soft skills required such as presentation of ideas and ability to clearly articulate the concepts to senior management
  • Demonstrates ability to work and conduct research independently
  • Manages time efficiently and multi-tasks effectively
  • Can think and work quickly to remedy system shutdowns or serious software problems
  • Ability to effectively interface with technical and nontechnical staff at all organizational levels

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is required.
  • Previous experience working with SharePoint and SharePoint Online is required


​​​​​​​ Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training or work experience
  • Microsoft Certifications will be beneficial e.g. Microsoft 365 Certified: Teamwork Administrator Associate


Work Environment

  • Some overtime or nontraditional hours may be required in order to quickly address issues
