Ernest Henry Mining is a copper and gold mining and processing operation located 38 kilometres north east of Cloncurry in North West Queensland. Originally an open pit mine, Ernest Henry Mining transitioned to underground mining in 2011 and also includes a copper concentrator and numerous support services. The Role
Accelerate your career with this leadership opportunity in the Underground Production Department. Reporting to the Superintendent - Underground Production at EHM, this position will see you lead and supervise a team of underground operations personnel.
This position is locally based in Cloncurry, DIDO from Mount Isa and FIFO from Townsville, Cairns or Brisbane. The successful candidate will work an eight (8) days on, seven (7) days off, seven (7) days on, six (6) days off roster.
The key responsibilities include:
- Effectively plan, organise, and manage crew operations and liaise with other departments/stakeholders to ensure that adherence to the overall mine plan is achieved;
- Strive to foster safety culture within our business and actively promote and support the Glencore Values;
- Be responsible for compliance with all site standards, relevant procedural and statutory regulations, as well as performance management and employee development for your team;
The successful candidate will possess:
- Previous underground mining experience;
- S123 competencies;
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills;
- Strong technical knowledge of underground mining (cave mining favourable) and competency in MS Office are essential;
- Recognisable commitment to safety, quality and best practice concepts.
