The Havieron Project

The Havieron Project has enjoyed exploration success over the past year and is rapidly approaching the delivery of an initial resource. The Havieron Project is the primary target of the Newcrest-operated earn-in with Greatland Gold and forms a key driver of Newcrest's growth strategy. The Project is located in the Paterson Province, Western Australia, approximately 45km east of Newcrest's 100%-owned Telfer mine .

Who we're looking for

A big focus of this 24-month contract is to provide environmental support to the execution phase of an underground decline project (including the camp) as well as provide broader environmental support for exploration activities. You will assist the Havieron Project in the development, execution and monitoring of environmental compliance and control requirements, as well as to provide advice with respect to all environmental, sustainability and technical matters.

Previous experience working in the mining industry in the environmental field is essential. A sound knowledge of the statutory environmental requirements and the ability to provide competent advice on these requirements is equally important.

You'll be structured and well organised with exceptional time management skills and your stakeholder management and interpersonal skills will be impeccable. You will also have;
  • A Bachelor of Environmental Science or Engineering (Environmental) or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in establishing an environmental management system, environmental risk registers and implementation of controls
  • Experience in both exploration and construction in hard rock mining
  • Experience with managing environmental performance on operating mine, exploration, construction or infrastructure projects
  • Project Management or proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Incident investigation, auditing skills, data analysis and report writing skills
