About Our FutureThe Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Engineering or Science Student to join our Sudbury Operations, for an 8-16 month placement opportunity for future opportunities.

Although previous experience in mining or an industrial setting is considered an asset, we also appreciate that diversity of thought comes from our differences – and that’s what makes us excellent!

Education & Experience:
  • Education:
    • Currently enrolled and in good standing in an Engineering or Science University or College program.
    • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed all courses (or are in the final year of program) and requires a placement to graduate.
    • Considering the following fields:
      • Chemical (University)
      • Electrical (University)
      • Mechanical (University)
      • Metallurgical (University)
      • Materials (University)
      • Mining (Universtity)
      • Environmental (University)
      • Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Technology (University or College)
  • Experience: Some experience in a similar role would be an asset

Requirements & Accountabilities:
  • Follow Vale’s Safety Policies, Programs and Legislative Standards
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate open and clear dialogue in all aspects of work
  • Develop skills and abilities related to the provision of engineering to Ontario Operations
  • Ensure compliance to the applicable regulations, standards and guidelines
  • Provide technical support to enable safe and efficient operations in an industrial plant or production laboratory
  • Monitor process parameters and communicate changes outside normal operational conditions to supervisor
  • Complete assigned projects safely and on time.
  • Strong digital literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
