Salary:
£17,000 (NI), Share Scheme, Pension, Flexible working and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

What do we do?
Electric Power Division (EPD) deliver operational excellence in manufacturing diesel and gas driven generating sets and equipment. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an industrial placement student to join our Retail Electric Power Solutions team based in Larne.

What experiences can we offer you?
The role will be based within our Business Resources team, partnering with various departments across our organisation providing key financial support.

The placement will provide you with first-hand experience of a role in Management Accounting with the opportunity to develop your accounting knowledge and business skills. The successful candidate will be exposed to a number of different aspects within the Finance Department of a large manufacturing facility. You will get to work and collaborate with people from various departments and will gain experience across several areas such as Product Costing, Inventory Accounting, Management Reporting, Operational support & SOX Control support amongst others.

Responsibilities may include:
• Support Month End close functions of the Caterpillar NI legal entity, including journal preparation, journal posting and reconciliations;
• Manage the facility's Product Costing Inbox, setting up of part's costs, provide part/genset/options costs to all areas of Caterpillar NI and resolution of sales order costing errors;
• Support product cost monitoring, unit of one requests and year end standard cost updates through analysis and investigation of cost movements;
• Support forecasting, tracking, and reporting of facility operational performance;
• Support facility inventory monitoring and reporting;
• Prepare and maintain up to date process documentation for key job tasks;
• Perform all activities to a high standard and in compliance with Internal and Sarbanes Oxley controls;
• Support the implementation of Process Improvement Opportunities
• Assisting with other ad hoc activities when required

We will provide you with a mentor to support you throughout your professional development to help you gain Chartered or Incorporated Status. Who are we looking for?
The role will require an individual who can demonstrate diligence and accuracy in the provision and analysis of financial information in a timely basis. They must be able to follow clear instructions and act on their own initiative when required. The role also requires an individual with good communication skills, both written and oral as they will be required to collaborate with financial and non-financial personnel throughout the organisation.

Applicants should be studying for a Business, Finance or Accounting related degree and be on track to achieve, at a minimum, a 2:2. We are looking for talented, ambitious people from various backgrounds who are interested in setting out on the road to success.
