Globe 24-7 in partnership with Newcrest Mining, is working together to source experienced and qualified talent to join their Power and Utilities Team at their Lihir Gold Operations (LGO).

The Role

Lihir Operates one of the largest oxygen facilities in the southern hemisphere. With four plants in the facility producing in excess of 140tph of Oxygen for processing requirements. The facility has plants from all the Major Manufacturer's and many upgrades in the pipeline

We are seeking a Senior Engineer Process - Oxygen Plant to provide process engineering expertise to the Lihir oxygen facility and associated operations team. You will be responsible to ensure the process efficiency, effectiveness, quality and safety and identify areas for improvement and cost savings. You will have a key hand in the shaping of future upgrades and ensuring they deliver the proposed benefits to the bussiness. You will be required to work across the Cryogenic industry to ensure the best technology is deployed at the facility.



The Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in process / chemical engineering or similar is essential
  • Post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded
  • Proficient in use of plant process simulation software/applications
  • Good understanding of the Cryogenic Air separation process and gas compression hazards
  • 5+ years relevant work experience in a large-scale gas processing/cryogenic operation essential
  • Superior planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and network with the business to enable effective outcomes delivered on time
  • Strong active listening & interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution & training
  • Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication and public speaking skills
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite and SAP
  • Previous experience working in a remote location in a developing country advantageous, but not essential
