About The Role:

Reporting to the Asset Health Manager, Australia, you will be a key member of the Operational Support Hub and be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing value add analytical solutions and technologies associated to asset reliability across Newmont operations and within the Operations Support Hub.

In This Role You Will:

• Consult with operational personnel to identify potential asset reliability improvement scopes of work
• Analyse all operational data sources to discover trends and patterns
• Highlight operational data gaps and identify technologies to close data gaps
• Work with sites to trial/implement technologies to improve operational data sources
• Build, validate and deploy value add predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
• Manage external analytical consulting / contracted service teams
• Present information using data visualization techniques/tools and rollout to users
• Monitor and report on value generated from implemented solutions
• Develop and drive the analytical roadmap for the Asset Health Centre

Your Skills, Training & Experience Checklist:

• Degree in Data Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering or equivalent field
• Expert understanding of data engineering and data science techniques, including for real time or near real time applications
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering and data science, within mining or comparable industry
• Demonstrate ability to work with operational and technical teams to effectively and efficiently define value adding scopes of work aimed at solving real problems
• Proven experience in designing and implementing algorithms, and machine learning tools based on defined scopes of work
• Application of business intelligence tools to visualise and deliver on operational value, e.g. Tableau, PowerBI
• Understanding of Pi or similar plant historian systems
• In depth understanding of structured and non-structured data principles, analytics, data visualisation and data presentation
• Proven knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques
• Knowledge of relational databases and schema normalisation techniques
