Position Overview:
Reporting to the VP Operations – General Manager, the Mine Technical Services Manager will have overall
responsibility for district geological, geotechnical and mine engineering teams. This role is accountable for delivery
of production and operating plans that are underpinned by sound geological, hydrogeological, geotechnical and mine
engineering knowledge and practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE:
• Oversee and coordinate the work of the district geology and mine engineering and technical teams and professionals including surface and underground geologists, mine engineers and technicians;
• Responsible to prepare short and long-term production plans and budgets and production milestones;
• In coordination with the Exploration Manager, ensure resources are allocated and available to deliver annual exploration programs;
• Integrate district wide geological resources, professionals and knowledge transfer to develop and improve underground mine planning, production and resource definition and expansion;
• Lead the geology and engineering teams to continuously focus on improving the technical and operational aspects of exploration and mine operations;
• Identify and anticipate risks to production and revenue in order to develop plans for mitigation;
• Prepare and manage annual budgets to ensure effective use of company operating and capital funds to achieve overall performance objectives
• Develop an environment where direct reports reach their full potential through mentorship, effective training programs, performance feedback and accountability.
• Monitor production performance against plan and implement mitigation measures to keep production performance on track with plans;
• Act as the ‘QP’ (Qualified Person) for district wide Mineral Resource/Mineral Reserve estimates, quality control, reporting and documentation;
