Fortescue is now consistently producing 175-180 million tonnes of iron ore per year and has an exciting future ahead, establishing itself for future growth in a global market through innovation, product diversification and asset development.
The company is scheduled to commence production at its Iron Bridge magnetite mine in mid-2022.
Iron Bridge is Fortescue's US$2.6 billion project, set to deliver 22mtpa of high grade 67% Fe magnetite concentrate product. Located 145km by road south of Port Hedland, the mine will deliver an innovative process design and industry-leading energy efficient operation.
Trainer & Assessor - Mining Operations
Work Location: Iron Bridge
Roster: 8D:6R - FIFO ex Perth
During this exciting time at Fortescue, with innovation projects changing the way we work in mining, we are currently seeking a qualified Trainer and Assessor (allrounder) with substantial Mining Operator experience to join the team at Iron Bridge. This position will provide the Training and Assessing requirements to our Mining Operations. You will be required to support the current training team and our customers.

- Delivery of Mining Operations training and assessing
- Delivery of AOZ theory and practical training
- Delivery of FMG specific training and assessments including Verification of Competency assessments and inductions
- Customer service provision to site customers
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and work without supervision
- Well organised and excellent time management skills with strong attention to detail
- Hands on approach to teamwork, positive attitude and superior customer service skills are essential
Qualifications and skills required:
- Current Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment
- Previous or comparable equipment experience - Mining & Support Mobile Equipment
- Experienced Operator on the following equipment or similar:
- Excavators - Liebherr 9800, 9400, 9250, 996B, Terex RH340B
- Shovel - Terex RH340S
- Graders - Cat 24M & 16M
- Loaders - 994H
- Haul trucks - Caterpillar, Komatsu, Terex
- Passionate, energetic and excited about the changes coming with innovation
- Comprehensive computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and SAP
