About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Craftsman Mobile Maintenance (Mine) to to join the Kennecott Asset Management department in a Field Maintenance role. This is a craftsman role, residentially based in Salt Lake City, Utah focused on improving availability, reliability, and processes around maintenance of heavy mobile equipment.

This role is a great opportunity to work for a global mining organization and further develop your technical skill set. Working a 5 days on, 2 off roster and reporting to the Superintendent - Maintenance, you will be:
  • Actively engaging with employees in discussions and initiatives that keep everyone safe and promote the "Zero Harm" safety culture
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical components on large hydraulic/electric drills and shovels in accordance with MSHA standards and standard work instructions
  • Working closely with Maintenance Support in developing safe and efficient standard work instructions , maintenance improvement efforts, and cost saving initiatives


About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A constant commitment to approaching tasks safely and intelligently
  • Ability and commitment to work rotating 12-hour shifts (Both days and nights)
  • Relevant experience, preferably in heavy industry/mining or a millwright trade
  • State electrical/millwright licensing or technical electrical training/schooling
  • Competency in welding, basic hydraulics, equipment alignment, pumps, and mechanical/electrical fundamentals and best practice
