Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounts Payable Manager leads the accounts payable team and ensures accurate and efficient processing of invoices, payments and reporting.

Main Accountabilities

  • Managing the accounts payable team to ensure that team objectives are met with excellent team work, motivation and career development;
  • Ensures efficient and effective processing of invoices and payments in accordance with best practices;
  • Monitoring and reporting of aging of outstanding payables and other key performance indicators;
  • Processing payments via electronic funds transfer (EFT), wire and cheque accurately and efficiently
  • Ensuring expenditure approvals are in accordance with Company policy;
  • Ensuring proper general ledger coding of all expenditures;
  • Preparation of detailed financial commitment schedules and analyses as requested;
  • Preparation of information for external auditors as required;
  • Monitoring development and adherence to company policy and procedures and internal controls;
  • Manages the timely and accurate preparation of regulatory filings (e.g. GST and QST returns);
  • Other responsibilities and matters as assigned by the Controller and/or CFO from time to time.


Main Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience required.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience of accounts payable operations in a leadership role
  • Internationally recognized accounting designation or qualification (CPA, CA, CGA , CMA) required
  • Excellent computer skills; accounting software, spreadsheets, graphs, word processing required
  • Experience with SAP required
  • Knowledge of KOFAX preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to function in a high paced and demanding environment
  • Clear and concise verbal and oral communication skills.
